Edwige Dro is a writer, translator, and the founder of 1949Books. She is a writer and literary translator from Mann, Côte d’Ivoire. She was inspired to create 1949 after reading the biography of Maire Koree, one of the original 1949 Bassam marchers. Dro is an alumna of Lycée Mamie Adjoua and University in England, North Hampton where she studied literature. In addition to managing 1949Books, Dro is currently working on her novel.
